Sonic Generations is set across three defining eras from the twenty years of Sonic the Hedgehog. The Sonic universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates ‘time holes’ which pulls Sonic and company back through time., along the way meeting is 1991 counterpart Classic Sonic. The newly announced game has been built in HD and will be playable in two styles; the classic 2D side scrolling style and the modern 3D style. Each incarnation of Sonic in Sonic Generations will have his trademark moves from that era such as the Spin Dash and Spin Attack for Classic Sonic.

Sonic Generations is due for release in Holiday 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
