Regular visitors may have noticed I was planning to write a fairly big Indie Games buying guide for the best releases of 2009. It was going to be a multi part guide split over a few days and list three top titles in detail with several smaller mentions of games from each genre. The guide is barely wrote and has already taken up several hours of time just to compile the list of games that will be included in the guide.
Unfortunately due to bad timing on my behalf and the Christmas rush of games means in the past week , we have already received around ten requests from developers for their games to be reviewed. I expect the list to increase in the next two weeks and this will create a massive backlog of games to review which will take a long time to clear.
I have explained this to the developers that have contacted us about reviewing their game and they are happy to wait but I feel bad that they can be waiting over a month for the review. So I have decided to put the buying guide on hold until myself and CyberAxe clear the majority of the backlog. Apologies if you were hoping to read the guide and make some decisions based on it but I think it is the best decision in the long term. What I will try and do in the meantime is write a shorter article to at least give a general idea of some of the best indie games of 2009 and then once the backlog is clear go ahead with the full guide.
