The Hitman series has maintained it’s popularity for over fifteen years and with Agent 47 return, he’s set to keep fans of the series entertained for some time to come. The latest in the series, simply titled “Hitman” is available for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The franchise has appeared in various forms recently, such as the puzzle game Hitman Go or the slots from Red Flush, but now it’s back with a new main instalment.

The most notable aspect of the game as opposed to previous entries in the series is that it is now episodic, with new content being released on a regular basis from the initial release in March. New missions in different locales will be added in the coming months, as well as new features and modes. This had enabled IO Interactive to spend more time on the game to ensure as much quality and content as possible. A full version of the game on disc will follow once all chapters have been released.

The Hitman franchise has mostly followed the same third-person stealth gameplay. As opposed to the Metal Gear or Splinter Cell series, in which you use stealth to get through environments to a goal, your mission in Hitman is to assassinate one or more targets. Each mission is a sandbox, allowing you to go to any location and use any means for your mission. The charm and appeal of the Hitman franchise comes from the large number of options available. You can go in guns blazing, sneak up on your target, kill them from a distance or make their death look like an accident. The number of options means there’s always new ways to do things and you can challenge yourself to get a quicker time, to not be seen, to accumulate more info before a hit and more.

Hitman has many improvements of the last main title, Absolution. Fans were upset over the linear gameplay options and instead wanted classic Hitman. IO Interactive have delivered with the new game, going back to structure the well-received Hitman: Blood Money. The levels are six or seven times larger, now contain hundreds of NPCs that can help or hinder your mission. The Elusive Targets is a new system that adds targets to the game through the internet for limited periods, with big rewards for completing these missions. The initial chapter of the game that was released in March brings the Prologue and Paris mission, with Sapienza and Marrakesh mission fowling in April and May receptively. There will be a total of seven episodes, giving Hitman fans new content until the end of 2016.

The Hitman franchise has been going strong in recent years. The new game will keep fans busy, as will other media. The second movie based on the games, Hitman: Agent 47, came out last year, letting fans experience Agent 47’s story in a more narrative form. In addition, Red Flush, the best online casino to play slot machines, also provides the same titled slots to play Hitman in a completely different way, whether for fun or with the excitement of real money being on the line, using elements of the series entice fans. Hitman Go is a game for IOS and Android that came out in 2014 that puts players in control of Agent 47 in a top-down perspective to guide him through missions and avoid detection.

With the Hitman series back on track, everyone can once again slip back into Agent 47’s suit and get to work.
