Upcoming Xbox Indie Games

We take a look at two upcoming Xbox Indie Games; the platform game Chester and the action adventure TIC.

Chester

Chester is a 2D platform game which takes inspiration from many classic games. The majority of the graphics are hand drawn to give it a unique look. The very interesting part are the five graphic styles which can be unlocked. These styles change the theme of the game and include 8bit modes, hand drawn and a very cool Game & Watch LCD. The game has ten unlockable characters which have their own special attacks which are improved the more you use them. The characters range from Gradius style ships and Metal Slug style tanks.

The trailer below shows some footage from the game and the developers have started a Kickstarter to help raise some funds, there is also a newer trailer on that page. This looks to be a very interesting game so do check out the trailer and if you can help out with the fund raising please do so! More information can be found on the homepage at http://bbg-games.com/.

TIC

Up next is an action-adventure game called TIC. You take control of TIC, mining robot that can unicycle, drill through walls and fly. Tic sets off on his quest after his town’s oil well dries up. EvilCorp are responsible and TIC must put a stop to their plans and an end to the drought. Before I go any further, check out the trailer below as the graphics look great. The game was developed using RedCandy Games own JawBreaker engine and the quality left me with a sore jaw after I picked it off the ground 🙂 I had to double check this was not a XBLA game!

Tic features the first three chapters of the story and will be available soon for 240 :MSPoints:. Keep an eye here and on the homepage at http://www.redcandygames.com/ for more details as this looks to be a game not to miss!
