This latest iteration in the genuine locomotive driving experience franchise brings a host of innovations and improvements to the game, including a redesigned career system, interface, graphical and performance updates, and new and refined creation tools. Google Earth integration enables highly detailed and diverse routes to come to life quickly and easily. Furthermore, an improved marketplace makes it even simpler to share and obtain new content. With over 100 pieces of downloadable content to choose from via Steam, players can create the digital train set they’ve always dreamed of. Customers who already own an earlier version of Train Simulator will receive a free software update to the 2014 edition at launch, giving existing users access to all the new user interface and gameplay improvements.

Further demonstrating its commitment to supporting the franchise with fresh content, Railsimulator.com also announced today its upcoming “Pacific Surfliner” DLC expansion for Train Simulator, opening up a 128-mile stretch of the famous California route linking Los Angeles Union Station to San Diego’s century-old Santa Fe Depot. Coast the coast, gliding gracefully through the rolling hills, valleys and quiet beach villages that dot the scenic Pacific Ocean shoreline, cruising by Anaheim’s Angel Stadium, Oceanside Pier, busy suburban junctions and sprawling urban rail yards. The “Pacific Surfliner” package includes a 3,200 horsepower, diesel-fueled EMD F59PHI locomotive, Amtrak Surfliner double-decker coaches, a rear cab driving car and new scenarios. This comprehensive DLC suite, coming in late October, is purchased separately from Train Simulator 2014 and requires ownership of the game or its upgrade.
