Shadow of the Beast was last shown off during Paris Games Week in October 2015, and it looked pretty decent. Today, the team over at Heavy Spectrum has announced that the game is in its final stages and will be launching exclusively on PS4 on May 17th.

Take control of Aarbron, the protagonist in Shadow of the Beast, and use mystic artefacts to upgrade his abilities and increase the depth of the gameplay. According to Matt Birch, CEO of Heavy Spectrum, the development team aims to have the game run at a steady 60 frames per second which will really bring the impressive looking worlds to life. The team has also stated that they’re busy hiding easter eggs throughout the game so we’ll have to have some fun figuring out what they are.
