This weeks Question of the Week is What Indie Games genres would you like to see more of? Is there a genre that is under represented such as Role Playing Games or maybe more original game ideas which the indie games scene is well known for. Let us know your thoughts on what game genres you would like to see more of, or if you have some of your own suggestions of games ideas by replying in the comments.

I really have seen a lack of NES styled games coming from the Indie Games sector. I reallt have been fond of stuff like Aesop’s Garden and things of the like, but it seems that anymore most people are just throwing a few lines of code together then calling it a game. I’ll be the first to say that while I commend those doing indie games, all I ask is that it actually fun and not full of bugs.
There are some indie games that I aam surprised made it into becoming an indie game…
Personally, I’m always in for tower defense or physics engine related games. But in general, everything with a clever idea is fine.
Clones are pretty much worthless to me as I can just play the original game instead, which is probably better anyway. So I’d rather see original game ideas. I think there are still a lot of opportunities left in 2D physics that are unexplored, or at least not overexplored.
What I’d like to see more in the Indie Games is episodic gaming. I don’t have too much time for playing games. So instead of an endless game full of content, I’d rather like a tightly designed adventure or platformer episode that lasts from 30-60 minutes with a good story. I’d pay 80-240 points for these if they were good.
Been playing Herman all weekend and it is the best XBLIG game I have ever played. Killer story. But it’s 400.
