All releases are played for the eight minutes allowed in trials and impressions are made from that. Note to developers: I have a backlog of games to review so I may have to be choosy on what to review or if you don’t mind a two week delay I can review it after.
Astro Mach3 is a Bejewelled style puzzle game where you need to match three tiles to remove them from the board. In Astro Match3 you do not move adjoining tiles to match but instead must match the previously chosen tile with a new tile to create a match. The presentation is a little basic but there are two game modes to play and if you like Bejewelled you should like this. Astro Mach3 costs 240
and more information can be found here.
Banana Split is a platform puzzle game in which you play as a banana called Ben Ana. Graphics are very nice but I found the jumping to be a bit weird, although this could be due to playing quite a few platform games recently with different jump styles. Otherwise it seems to be a pretty good game and well worth checking out. Banana Split costs 240
and more information can be found here.
Boring Space Shooter is a twin stick shooter that has a rewind time feature when holding the A button. I totally missed this the first time I tried the game as the info screen is hidden away on the options screen by pressing Right, the developer let me know about it. The game was originally a little tricky to play, but with the time rewind it is a lot more fun as you can rewind when you are dead or about to die. An interesting twist on the twin stick shooter genre, worth checking out at least. Boring Space Shooter costs 80
and more information can be found here.
Crosstown is a retro inspired game from the Commissar 6000, I have to admit I never heard of it before and I am a big retro gaming fan so if you have heard of it well done!
Crosstown is played in a PacMan style maze where he must collect a number of items to complete the level. Allies and enemies are also introduced which help or hinder your progress. There is also some kind of shop accessible after several levels which I believe you can buy upgrades, but the trial time run out so not sure what they were. I really enjoyed the game so if you like retro gaming this will be right up your alley
Crosstown costs 400
and more information can be found here.
Halloween 360 is a slideshow that displays halloween themed images. Do not see the point of slideshow apps on the 360 and that’s the end of this review. Halloween 360 costs 80
and more information can be found here.
Pumpkin Chop is a application that allows you to carve a face into a pumpkin and then display it in like a 3D screensaver. Usually I am pretty tough on screensavers but at least this one allows you to create the pumpkin face and then see it in action in two 3D scenes, a field with a scarecrow or a houses porch. Pumpkin Chop costs 80
and more information can be found here.
Titles that have received a software update or price change are Galactic Escape, Pastels Square, Rock Paper Scissors Xtreme!, Meet UR Match, TheAmazingRumblingHypnoDisc, Math Gardener and Cyborg Mice Arena.

Thanks for the review.
Unfortunately I haven’t the xbox360 in my university room so I can’t play the release version of Boring(until the weekend).
but when you restar the game there are no enemies, what do you mean?If you mean time rewind=another life it’s not the same and you can respawn in a wrong place.
how much did you scored in GW RE? I was afraid to make the game too easy for old GW players.
The game bases is gameplay on improving is abilities and survive a bit more.(unfortunately there are no leaderboards – my cco premium is going to finish next month and I had not the time to put leadeboards in it)
At what time do you die in boring?
thanks again.
it was my first game and I know it’s no good
Banana Split’s graphics look pretty good in the trailer. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the warning about the jumping in it.
@lefantome
I did not know about the time rewind feature as when I looked for information on how to play the game on the Options & Info screen I just got the options. But I just retried the game and saw a small arrow pointing right to show there is another screen.
As I did not know about the time rewind, I was quickly tapping the A button instead of holding it which was the reason I was kept dying as you are supposed to rewind time.
I will update my trial impression of your game to reflect this, sorry for missing it, but in my defence it was not very clear anywhere there was a time rewind feature
Thanks
the section is called Options and info and there are other 3 pages of info about the gameplay.
I made you these question because i was afraid that there was a bug in the game.
Feel free to write whatever you think about the game
Thanks for the review of Banana Split! Sorry if you didn’t find the jumping to be your taste but when you work on a game for 9 months you tend to soften yourself to anything like that and just get used to it so it’s not a problem until someone mentions it, but I’m confident it’s not a huge problem
Thanks all the same!
You are right, it is nowhere near a huge problem more a minor observation. It is just the single jump is very short compared to other platform games, but you can jump again in mid air which makes up for it and would be similar to other games.
The single jump is needed in various places later on in the game – for example the green milk enemy, when jumped on you bounce about 5x as high as normal. If you single jump onto this enemy, you can jump again at the top of the bounce to reach higher places, and this is required in some puzzles, but yes – it is a bit shorter than normal single jumps.
