Indie Games round up 23rd February

Welcome to the latest Indie Games round up, seven new releases since late last week so we are back to two round ups a week!

Anger Management is basically a Pong game against either another human or CPU. The author tried to make the game whacky with weird graphics and music but ultimately you are bored after precisely 23.7 seconds, see I can be whacky too…. Anger Management costs 80 :MSPoints: and you can find more information here.

As Easy As 123 BlackJack is a BlackJack card game with a twist for just one player. You can now bet on three different hands for a chance to win. It is not a bad idea but the lack of opponents or multiplayer in any form makes you lose interest after a while. As Easy As 123 BlackJack costs 240 :MSPoints:, more information can be found here.

Asteroid Capture is a multiplayer game in which players must race against each other to pull asteroids back to their zone. Although it says single player can play, it is boring so don’t bother. With some friends the game might be interesting as the ships can also shoot so I think some underhand tactics of shooting your opponents asteroid could be possible? If you have a few friends over it might be worth checking out. Asteroid Capture costs 80 :MSPoints:, more information can be found here and a trailer can be found below.

Avatar Boogie is an application with up to 50 Avatar dancers dancing to music. The trailer made it look slightly interesting and cheesy but I was looking forward to trying this, I even had a little song for the review with the words to Jungle Boogie replaced with Avatar Boogie, it was going to be epic! Unfortunately the trial version is limited to one avatar and doesn’t show any of the fun stuff, WORST TRIAL EVER! Avatar Boogie costs 80 :MSPoints:, more information can be found here and a trailer below.

Brethren of the Coast is a realtime strategy game where you control a ship and must track down your enemies and destroy them. The game is in 3D and the control system and navigation are interesting ideas, they take a little getting used to but seem to work fine. The battles were slightly boring though but I think once you get some tactics this may be more interesting. One to check out if you like ship navigation and battle games. Brethren of the Coast costs 240 :MSPoints:, more information can be found here and a trailer below.

Metronome HD is a Metronome for your 360, what else can I say? Unfortunately this great piece of software seems to have been removed from the Marketplace, oh well.

Omoti is the latest release from one of my favourite indie devs DK Alpha, unfortunately that relationship is now terminated after the trauma Omoti has caused me! The closest I can compare this game with is Work Time Fun (WTF) on the PSP where you must perform repetitive tasks over and over, it was probably the most stupid game ever but had a charm about it with games such as screwing pen caps on pens. Omoti follows the same path and has you stacking three items before sending them on the way to stack another three and repeat forever. Omoti is a fun idea but not worth the 80 :MSPoints:, more information can be found here.

Titles that have received a software update or price change are Soul, Shining Blood, Sudoku X, Tank-tastic!, Audio Diagnostics, Snaker Ace, Impossible Shoota, Your Doodles Are Bugged!, Zombies 2.0, Wool, Aminal the Christmas Game and Storage Inc.
