Indie Games round up 12th March

Here is the latest round up of Indie Games releases and updates over the past couple of days.  Pick of the bunch for me is Drooop!! and Bush Hunt.

Bush Hunt is an action platformer, your task is to hunt animals on each level to progress to the next. A number of animals spawn from boxes and once killed are added to the tally which must be reached to complete the level. Graphics are quite good, and the controls are OK, maybe a little floaty when jumping. Weapons are upgradable an interesting idea is the levels change depending on the time of the day/night. Worth checking out if you like platform games or shooting animals. Bush Hunt costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here and a trailer below.

Cocktails: shake it up! is a cocktails database which contains 161 entries. The database seems to be fairly comprehensive and allows you to search by ingredients and names amongst others. Presentation is done well and while this application will not be useful for everyone, it comes in at 80 :MSPoints:, this could be handy for occasional reference and includes non alcoholic cocktails as well. You can find more information on the Marketplace here.

Drooop!! is a puzzle game where you must complete the objectives on each level to open the exit. It is a bit tricky to explain this game, you basically have rotatable platforms which can be used to ‘drop’ other platforms by separating them when rotated. Objectives can include dropping a number of these platforms, collecting money or killing enemies. My description will not do this game justice but please do check this out as the game is very addictive and great to play. Drooop!! costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here.

Ninja Chop!! is an action game in the loosest sense. You play as a female Ninja trainee who must chop the milk bottles, the accuracy of the chop is decided by the player who must press the button at the correct area on the sliding gauge. The graphics are done very well and there is some interchangeable clothing to keep things interesting for a short while, but by the end of the trial it was just the same thing over and over. Ninja Chop!! costs 240 :MSPoints: and is not worth it. More information can be found on the Marketplace.

Puzzle Drop – Mountain Set is a puzzle game where you must build a picture from falling jigsaw pieces. The game was not too bad but I did find the placing and slotting of the pieces a bit strange, also the game froze on me after completing the first puzzle so I had to reach for the power button to restart. Puzzle Drop – Mountain Set costs 240 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found below.

Space Nuggets is a thrust style game in which you control the rocket and must navigate tunnels to collect the nuggets of gold underground, then make a exit 1000 feet into the atmosphere, all with a limited amount of fuel. The graphics are very basic but the gameplay is fine, it is a tried and tested game genre so no complaints there. The cost is 240 :MSPoints: which does seem a little high for the game, either way give it a try. More information on Space Nuggets can be found here.

Word Duelist is an educational puzzle game that comprises of fifteen different word games such as finding the missing letters, making as many words as possible out of a bunch of letters. This game puts you in a University with several computer opponents to play against. The game looked quite fun from what I played in the trial, worth checking out if you like word puzzle games. Word Duelist costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found below.

Titles that have received a software update or price change are Guardian, Lethal Judgment, myChristmas and Creed Arena.
