Ten new games for this indie games round up, my personal picks of the bunch are Dysnomia, Masters of Belial and War of Words. Also we have some good news, the review backlog is now cleared and we are now taking on review requests. Avatar Street Basketball is a Basketball hoop shooting game. You control your Avatar and must shoot hoops to score points while moving around the court. There are a variety of themed locations with a few modes to play on and it all looks quite good graphically. I would have loved to have seen two player support to give some challenge but there local and I think global leaderboards to set your scores. Worth checking out if you are into Basketball. Avatar Street Basketball costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found below.

Catch Me If You Can is a platform game where you must press either the A or B buttons to overcome obstacles to try to catch the best free runner in the world. This is a simple game but after the tutorials it become quite challenging as the platform design changes and must quickly react to the new obstacles that appear as a result. Not a bad game, worth checking out at least. Catch Me If You Can costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found on the Marketplace here.

ColorBox is a block dropping puzzle game where instead of making groups of blocks you must place the coloured blocks on the board. The coloured blocks merge and depending on the brightness will eventually turn white and are removed from the game. It took a little getting used to and just as I was getting used to it the game forced me back to the main menu. Not a fan of this type of trial, just let us play the game for eight minutes! ColorBox costs 240 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here.

Dark Seal is a strategy game for up to four players locally. Each player takes turns to move their characters and can either attack or cast a spell. I found the controls confusing and was not quite sure what I was supposed to be doing half the time. Dark Seal costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here.

Dysnomia is a top down arcade shooter similar to the classic Alien Breed. You have made an emergency landing on a planet and must repair your ship by finding components on the alien world. I have been keeping an eye on this game and now I have got to play it my expectations are fulfilled. A great mix of exploration, shooting and some puzzle solving. Dysnomia costs 240 :MSPoints: and looks to be worth every point, it is what the recent Alien Breed remake should have been like. We should have a full review shortly but in the meantime check it out for yourself here and the trailer below.

Euphorium is a arcade puzzle game in which you must explode near a orb and try set set off a chain reaction of exploding orbs, a bit like Every Extend Extra. The game seems to play well and while there is nothing wrong with it I feel it could do with a bit more graphics effects to liven it up. The are 70 levels to complete so it seems good value for the 80 :MSPoints:, worth checking out at least. More information can be found on the Marketplace here and a trailer below.

Masters of Belial is an action role playing game with arena deathmatch style gameplay. You play against a CPU or local player in the world of Azgoth and must defeat your opponent. Some RPG elements are present and you can upgrade your character. Battle comes in the form of close combat and spell casting and you have NPCs to help out. Graphically the game looks great and is some of the best I have seen on indie games. Masters of Belial costs 400 :MSPoints: and is well worth checking out. More information can be found here and a trailer below.

Shake! is a quick arcade game for up to four players locally. Each player must shake their can of coke to fizz it up by randomly pressing all the buttons on the controller. Once the timer is counted down the coke cans are launched into space and the distance travelled is based on how much fizz is generated. The game is boring in single player as there is little challenge but with some more players it could be fun. I did make up a little song you can sing while playing… Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your coke can, shake your coke can. Yeah I was that bored 🙂 Shake! costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here.

The Spirit Box is some kind of application that communicates with the other side. The spirit world must have been busy playing Perfect Dark or something as I couldn’t find them. Waste of time and a waste of 80 :MSPoints:, if you want to try contacting the spirit world you can find more information here.

War of Words is a puzzle game which is presented and played in a Puzzle Quest style combat scenario. Instead of matching jewels you must create words out of the blocks of letters which reduce your opponents energy. I did not think I would like this game but after playing I have to admit I was hooked. If you are a fan of Puzzle Quest and/or like word games this is a great little game, well worth checking out! War of Words costs 400 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found below.
