Indie Games Round Up 21st April

Six new indie game to check out in this round up of releases. All the games below cost 80 points so be sure to check them all out as there are some great releases!

Abduction ActionAbduction Action! is a game where you control an alien UFO invading earth. You use your tractor beam to wreak havoc on the population by abduction humans and animals, killing humans and vehicles by dropping items on  them and other such shenanigans. The trial acts as a tutorial and was a little limited in what you can do but it gives you fairly good idea of what to expect. The gameplay seemed to be quite fun and at only 80 :MSPoints: it is well worth checking out. More information can be found here and a trailer below.

Avatars Ghosts n ZombiesAvatars, Ghosts’n Zombies is a survival game in which you must defeat the waves of enemies. The story mode was disabled in the trial, it apparently features 57 levels split over 7 locations. The survival mode was interesting but I found the controls a little confusing as you have a few weapons to use. It seems to be a decent game but I would have liked to have seen the story mode to get a better idea as this was the main attraction of the game. Avatars, Ghosts’n Zombies costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here.

Block KillerBlock Killer is an arcade shooter where blocks move towards you and you must destroy them before they hit you. The blocks come in various styles, some require multiple shots, move around, turn invisible and some restore your health when destroyed. It is a simple game idea and it works quite well, a nice fast paced game. Block Killer costs 80 :MSPoints: and is worth checking out if you fancy something different. More information can be found here.

Quad ForceQuad Force is a up to four player (local) top down 3D shooter. Unlike other shooters of this genre the game features some nice twists such as line of sight, meaning a wall will hide the enemy from your view, going through the doorway and facing it will show the enemy. The game play is fun and more strategic than others, and the graphics look great! I think the game would be great with multiple players, so if you have a few friends this is definitely one to check out. We should have a review for this game shortly. Quad Force costs just 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found below.

The Tower A Bombs ClimbThe Tower: A Bomb’s Climb is an arcade platform game. You play the character of  a bomb and must jump your way up the screen to higher platforms before the fire catches up with you. You character automatically moves from side to side so all you must do is hold the jump button to power up your jump. It is an interesting game idea but  towards the end of the trial the power gauge disappeared and timing jumps became very tricky. Combined with some platform locations that made it hard to reach in time, I was getting a little frustrated with the game. It does cost only 80 :MSPoints: so is worth checking out at least, you can find more information on the Marketplace here and a trailer below.

Tokyo 2029 ADTOKYO 2029 A.D. is an up to four player (local) fighting game. I think it is safe to say you can throw out your Street Fighter 2 style tactics as this is more about button mashing in my opinion. I found it easier to simply mash the B button to do a kind of jump attack and win every time rather than sit back and pick your attacks. With a few friends this could be fun, but the single player game did not interest me much. We will have a review for this game shortly. TOKYO 2029 A.D. costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found below.

Titles that have received a software update or price change are Toad Man’s Bizarre Quest, Are you fast enough?, Asphalt Jungle, Princess Baker Palace, Tobe’s Vertical Adventure and Canno-Blast.
