Massage Me review

Yes I’m afraid it’s another massage game/application folks.  The market is currently being flooded with these simple XBLIG titles which turn your control pad into a vibrating ‘massage aid’ and whilst I can understand the idea was novel when first thought up do we really need any more?

Massage Me gives you complete control over the vibration function of your Xbox 360 controller allowing you to manipulate speed, intensity and pulse.  The game has a number of pre-programmed massages or you can create your own regimens, a feature I believe is unique to the game, you are however unlikely to use this option except to play around and test it.  The fact is if you really want what the game has to offer then you will most likely get it from the pre-programmed options on offer. The game has both a solo and party mode meaning you can play with yourself – completely intentional – or as part of a really awkward group.

Graphically the interface is fine and rather easy on the eye, the developer has gone for a neon sign look adding to the top shelf feel of the game, everything is clear and well spaced; especially in the party option which could have run the risk of looking crowded. The sound is adequate for the purpose but I feel if people really want to bring some innovation to these games then I’d like to see the inclusion of something like a selection of ‘mood setting’ tracks or even a music import option.

Overall this really is another gimmick that has no real worth as a massage aid or an adult toy but if you really are interested in this ‘genre’ then check out the trial now.  The full game itself will set you back the staggering amount of 240 :MSPoints:, a price perhaps best saved for games with a little more depth, and is available on the Marketplace now.
