Xbox Indie Games Round Up – May 19th

Fifteen new releases in this round up of Xbox Indie Games. As the number of releases is still quite high (15 in 3 days) we are slightly changing the format of these round ups as they take a few hours to write every couple of days. So instead of covering each game in detail we will now cover the better games in more detail and the not so good games in less detail.

Must Try Releases

DoppelgangerDoppelganger is a 2d side scrolling shooter similar to the classic arcade game Defender. The twist is you now control two space craft on two worlds which you can change between at any time to shoot the alien craft before they capture the humans. Presentation, graphics and music are all done very well and the two craft/world idea brings something new to the table to make it stand out. Doppelganger costs 80 :MSPoints: and is worth checking out. More information can be found here and a trailer on page 2.

Gerbil Physics 2Gerbil Physics 2 is the squeakquel (sorry couldn’t resist) to the very good physics game Gerbil Physics which we reviewed here. The gameplay is essentially the same, get the blocks of Gerbils below the yellow line by blowing up, pulling and disintegrating them. Part 2 sees various improvements on the original including new locations to visit and some new ways to cause destruction. Fans of the original or newcomers should definitely check this one out. Gerbil Physics 2 costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found on page 2.

PaipaPaipa is a puzzle game set in Victorian times. You are onboard a ship and must keep the water pressure under control by connecting pipes on the left of the screen to pipes on the right. You do this by rotating pieces of the pipe to make a connection which reduces the pressure. Graphics and presentation are good and the sound effects work well with the game. A nice puzzle game and well worth checking out! Paipa costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here, a trailer can be found on page 2.
