Xbox Indie Games Round Up – November 21st

A quieter than usual week for Xbox Indie Games, with only ten new releases and eleven updated titles.

Our game play compilation video is available to view below. I am using different video grabbing software this week and its recorded a small blue line on the right edge of the videos so I will try and get this fixed soon. I am also looking into ways to get visitors involved for their impressions of the indie games which we can incorporate into the round ups. We welcome all suggestions/feedback on the indie games round ups, good or bad, so please let us know in the comments.

Here are this weeks releases and updates sorted in a rough order on how good they are over three categories. Trial impressions have been wrote for the Geddon it! category games. Please take a look at all the games as something may interest you. Trailers for the new releases can be found on Page 2.

Geddon it!

Commander - World 1Commander – World 1 is a tower defense game with a few twists. First is that the enemy path is dynamic which can change over time or be modified by yourself. The second twist is you can control spaceships to help destroy the enemy. There are plenty of levels to defend your way through, the presentation and graphics are in a bright colourful pixel art style which is good to see and works well. Commander – World 1 only costs 80 :MSPoints: and is well worth checking out. More information can be found on the Marketplace, a trailer can be found on Page 2.

Krazy AlienzKrazy Alienz is a arcade game inspired shooter which also features power ups and downs. It is essentially Space Invaders, but to help you rack up the scores there are a variety of specials such as Rewind which will reverse the aliens direction and Rockets that will destroy entire columns of aliens. The game features an up to four player local multiplayer mode, leaderboards and plenty of levels to beat.  Krazy Alienz costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found on the Marketplace, a trailer can be found on Page 2.

Wiwis Adventures 2Wiwi’s Adventures 2 is a 2D scrolling platform game. You play as a small boy named Wiwi who is looking for the Scrolls of Chaos which have been stolen by the bad Hamster Army. There are 25 varied levels with 6 bosses and 14 different enemy types. There are power ups which allow you to fly, run faster and shoot fireballs… sounds familiar? 🙂 Despite the similarities to a certain plumber, this is a decent platform game with nice graphics, music and good old fashioned platform action. More information can be found on the Marketplace, a trailer can be found on Page 2. UPDATE: I reviewed this game earlier in the week and has since been removed from the Xbox Marketplace. I will update if/when it is back for sale.
