PlayStation®Move Move.Me Application

Sony announced at GDC 2011 that they are launching a new application called Move.Me which will help benefit research and academic communities around the world.Using the Move.Me software will allow people to create new software applications using a PlayStation®Move motion controller as an input device on their PCs, all via the PlayStation 3 system.

Sony says  the Move.Me project should be able to help people in a variety of ways including physical therapy and rehabilitation, or it can be used to create new concepts for future games and bring more innovation to the gaming industry.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen our home PCs or gaming systems helping others. Many of you might remember Folding@Home that was created at Standford University, maybe Sony had a little inspiration from them?

Move.Me is scheduled to become available via the PlayStation Network this spring.
