Xbox Indie Games Round Up – April 10th

A fairly quiet this week with only ten new Xbox Indie Game releases. And it is a first, a week with no zombie games!

Below is this weeks compilation video of footage of all the weeks releases. I received the Roxio Game Capture to review and have captured all the footage with it, no more horrible blurry footage! Now the videos are better quality I can start work on presenting the video a little better with more details about the game such as the price, it should be ready in a few weeks.

Up next are this weeks releases sorted in a rough order on how good they are over three categories. Trial impressions have been wrote for the Geddon it! category games, the rest use the developers descriptions. Please take a look at all the games as something may interest you. Trailers for the new games can be found on Page 2.

Geddon it!

FortressCraft Chapter 1FortressCraft Chapter 1 is a Minecraft inspired game. Now I have to be honest and admit my knowledge of Minecraft only extends to two things; it is very popular and you can build interesting buildings. Other than that I have no idea what the purpose of the game is as I have never played the PC game. So my trial impression is mainly based on other people I have spoken to, there is a mix of good and bad feedback compared to Minecraft. I have put this game in the Geddon it! category because it appears to be good but I do not know much about the genre. FortressCraft Chapter 1 costs 240 :MSPoints: and more information can be found on the Marketplace, a trailer can be found on page 2.

Shield the BeatShield the Beat is a music genre game. Enemy ships have surrounded your ship and you must defend by moving your shield with the analog stick to block their fire. The enemy bullets are fired to the beat of the music, so the game plays like a DDR/Guitar Hero style music game. Music tracks include Franz Ferdinand, DJ Champion and Malajube. The graphics are 3D which takes you on a journey around space as you are playing and look really good in the background as you avoid space stations and planets. Shield the Beat does cost 400 :MSPoints: but if you are in to music genre games I think you will enjoy this a lot. Either way, do check the game out as it is quite fun to play! More information can be found on the Marketplace, a trailer can be found on page 2.
