A very busy week, the XBLIG Summer Uprising is in full swing with some great releases as seen below! Keep an eye on Gamergeddon each day for the releases, there are five more to come starting tomorrow (Monday):  Take Arms, SpeedRunner, Train Frontier Express, Chester and Redd: The Lost Temple.

Below is our compilation video showing gameplay from the weeks releases. Please take a look and don’t forget to subscribe to our You Tube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/TheGamergeddon.

Up next are this weeks releases sorted in a rough order on how good they are over three categories. Trial impressions have been wrote for the Geddon it! category games, the category is a must try and/or buy. Armehgeddon is a category that has some games that are worth considering at least playing the trial to see if you like them, they are by no means bad. The final category, Armageddon outta here!, contains games that are not worth the time and best left alone.

Geddon It!

Doom & Destiny – 80 :MSPoints: – MarketplaceTrailer

[singlepic id=7701 w=320 h=240 float=center]

It is hard to get a good impression of a RPG within the trial time limit but on the surface at least Doom & Destiny looks like a well made Japanese style RPG. Graphics are in the traditional top down view and look very good. The story follows four characters who are thrown in to a fantasy world and must uncover the plot of the evil Unnamed and his lieutenant. The game uses turn based combat system which is my personal favourite method. Doom & Destiny looks to be a good RPG and at only 80 :MSPoints: should be worth the money.

Cute Things Dying Violently – 80 :MSPoints: – MarketplaceTrailer

[singlepic id=7685 w=320 h=240 float=center]

Cute Things Dying Violently is a physics based puzzle game. The aim is to flick Critters safely to the elevator for them to escape. Plenty of hazards will make this a challenge such as spikes, buzzsaws and fire. Graphics are average compared to some of this weeks releases but they are suitable for the game. There are over 60 levels to complete, with extras including a built-in level editor, at only 80 :MSPoints: this is a must buy! We will have a full review of the game online soon but the short of it is to go and buy now.

Raventhorne – 240 :MSPoints: – MarketplaceTrailer

[singlepic id=7649 w=320 h=240 float=center]

Milkstone Studios consistently create quality games and Raventhorne is no exception. You play as Raventhorne, a fallen Norse hero who takes revenge for his death. The game is a scrolling beat-em-up and spans 6 worlds which is quite a bit of content. Along the way you gain experience which makes you stronger and you have access to magic spells to buff your character. Graphics look the part and the controls, while they are a little tricky at first, do work well. Raventhorne does cost 240 :MSPoints: but I feel it is worth the asking price, check it out.

Cursed Loot – 80 :MSPoints: – MarketplaceTrailer

[singlepic id=7731 w=320 h=240 float=center]

Cursed Loot is an update to last years Epic Dungeon. If you bought last years game you will have to buy this game again as it is two separate games. Is it worth buying again? It is hard to say but personally I wont be buying it again as the game feels more like a title update than a new game. If you missed out on the game last year, then this is a must buy. Read our full review of the original here.

T.E.C. 3001 – 240 :MSPoints: – MarketplaceTrailer

[singlepic id=7699 w=320 h=240 float=center]

We reviewed T.E.C. 3001 a few days ago so you can read the full review here. You control a robot who runs along platforms and you must collect a number of batteries in order to complete the levels. Your robot has various abilities such as jumping, a slide to go under gaps and a charge ability to smash glass barriers, even a gliding ability for later levels. The graphics look great and it runs very smooth. The game does get quite challenging around mid-point in the game so if you enjoy this genre you should have a lot of fun trying to beat them.

Armehgeddon

This category has games that are well worth trying if the descriptions interest you. The games are by no means bad, but may lack the quality, design, price or something else that keeps it out the top category.
