Remember the Game Genie? It’s Back!

Hyperkin has announced that the Game Genie is making its way to PS3 owners soon. The device will be making an appearance at E3 so we expect to learn more this week about it.

If you’re old enough to have owned an NES when it originally released, you probably already know what the Game Genie is capable off. At that time it was a device that you attached your cartridges to and placed it in the console.  You could enter eight character alpha-based codes to earn unlimited lives, money, and items – or you could turn on “God Mode” to make yourself invincible. Possibilities were almost endless. Other systems in recent years used the GameShark which did pretty much the same thing but it had even more drastic possibilities for certain games.

At E3, Hyperkin will be debuting its Game Genie: Save Editor program. What this allows PlayStation 3 users to do is transfer their save files onto their PCs using an included USB device, overwrite them with the included cheats, and then transfer them back onto their consoles. New codes will become available to you as soon as they’re uploaded onto the official updated server.
