Who doesn’t love a Marvel adventure? Since being purchased by Disney back in 2008, the Marvel brand has gone from strength to strength. There are numerous high grossing films like X-Men, brand new TV shows and of course many games have been developed. Like with all super heroes, the Marvel characters are now household names and the games have just added to our intrigue for them, so with this in mind here are some of the best Marvel based games to try.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
The wonderful rogue X Men character has been brought to life in this exhilarating video game. For those of you who love adventure games, this is a great game to start with; it is fun, fast paced and gives you a chance to play with all of Wolverine’s mutant powers.
Much like the movie, the game’s graphics display the Hugh Jackman wolverine that we have grown fond of and the imagery is perfect. Throughout the game play, you will see that Wolverine’s injuries heal in real-time, no matter how deep the cuts. The angrier he gets, the more devastating his attacks against enemies. This is a fast game that offers glimpses of the powerful X-men and is great for beginners and experienced players alike.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
This game is arguably an RPG, but really reminds many of the ‘beat em ups’ of the late 80’s. This is the one game mentioned here that has real depth to the gameplay and you will feel like you are within an epic battle. This is one of the better multiplayer games available to Marvel fans and is a great choice for playing against your friends for some added competition.
You will be playing on either Captain America’s rebel army or Iron Man’s heroes, so you will get the chance to play as many different Marvel characters, giving this game extra replay value.
Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four is a 5-reel 50-line slot game for the ultimate Marvel fans. Not only do you get to play a game that involves your favourite characters, but you also have the chance to win the jackpot. The game features all the Fantastic Four characters, Mr Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing, some of the best loved characters that Marvel ever came up with. The symbols for the characters are featured throughout the game, most obviously as the wild card symbol, which offers you the chance to play extra spins and ultimately more chances to win.

X Men Arcade
Finally, why not head back to the past to have a go at one of the best Marvel based games that has ever been created? This 1990’s gem really is an arcade game with a difference; not only do you get the classic arcade feel and graphics, but you also get to play as your favourite X Men characters. It is full of comedy one liners, classic beat ‘em up graphics and perfectly fitting sound effects. Magneto’s voice will make you giggle, and the storyline will see you trying to destroy Magneto over and over again, which you will probably think is boring. However it is pleasantly surprising how action packed this game is.
You can choose to play as Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Colossus or Dazzler and is perfect for playing against you friends, which is the whole point of beat ‘em up games isn’t it? The game is available to download on the Xbox, PlayStation and on our smartphones.
