Video games are not just set in fantasy universes but also in real life locations around our world. Often it builds a connection with gamers who may live in or near these locations or have visited them in the past. One of my favourite real life locations is the London level in Call of Duty, set in the Docklands near to my home and where I travel as I use the underground often. If you have ever wondered about some of the locations used in games, there is a handy interactive map you can look them up on for some of the most popular games.
The Butlers Bingo Epic Journeys interactive map covers several more recent games including the Uncharted, Call of Duty and Need for Speed series. Simply click on a game title and a map will show the locations around the world. Clicking on a location will show a brief description of the place and how it was used in the game. For example in the Last of Us, the story of Joel and Ellie takes in numerous locations across the US, including Boston, Pittsburgh, Wyoming and Colorado.
