We have 24 games is this weeks round up of indie game releases with trial impressions for the best.
Before we get started, we held a competition earlier this week to suggest new category names to replace the three (Good, Average, Bad) that we currently use. We had some great suggestions and it was a very tough choice to pick one, the round up is actually delayed because I was still deciding. In the end we decided on JJ UK’s suggestion of Geddon it!, Maybegeddon and Armageddon outta here! as the winning entry. The decision was based on that it relates to the name of this site and is a nice funny word play. Congratulations to JJ UK, your code for Jump,n Bounce will be sent shortly, and thanks to hodsey77, ilRadd, Andrew, skaipio, Chris Hofer and Skram for taking the time to enter.
As a note, the three categories should only be used as a guideline. Just because a game is in the middle category it does not mean it is rubbish. Please at least read through all the game descriptions and try the trial version if it sounds interesting. An example is Action Arcade Wrestling, a nice wrestling game but the controls felt a little clunky. Techno Kitten Adventure is a very funny game but probably only worth playing the trial. There are some good and/or interesting games in the middle category, but we only put the best in the top category.

Geddon it!
Abaddon: Retribution – This is the sequel to Abaddon released earlier this year. The space combat game continues where it left of with fast paced battles with waves of enemy craft which you must destroy to defend your base ship. Your craft and base ship can be upgraded with a good variety of weapons and abilities during the mission. Graphics look great and the presentation is done very well. Old School Adventure – This is the sequel to Chris Unarmed, a platform/puzzle game that had some great gameplay and level designs. Old School Adventure continues the theme but this time leaning towards a more puzzle based design rather than running and jumping around, though you still do this. The graphics have improved and take inspiration in places from some other platform games such as Braid and Limbo. This is a challenging platformer so be warned, hair tearing may happen! VEXIS – This is a puzzle game where you must get the white block into the black hole by rotating the board so that the block slides until it hits a wall or object. There are 33 levels to complete which should keep you busy for some time. Graphics and music are nicely done, a simple yet enjoyable puzzle game that is done very well. Maybegeddon
