Shadow Complex released Wednesday

Tomorrow sees the release of the final game in the Summer of Arcade 2009 promotion Shadow Complex. It is a 3-D side-scrolling action game with some quite amazing graphics to rival boxed games based on the novel by Orson Scott Card. You must explore and fight your way through the game with 17 power-ups and more than 100 additional items and modifiers. It looks like it could be the best game of the year for XBLA (either that or Trials HD), there is a lot of hype for it and it seems warranted by the early reviews. Shadow Complex will…

Pay more for less?

The recently released Games On Demand feature for the Xbox 360 gives gamers the opportunity to purchase and download games from their Dashboard or PC to their 360 Hard Drive. One of the major talking points has unfortunately been the pricing of these games, all currently released titles costing £ in UK (US $) each. Purchasing via Game on Demand allows you to download the game to your 360 Hard Drive. You do not receive a disc, a manual (you can download this online) or box. The game is locked to your gamertag or 360 which you are unable to…

Free advertising here for Indie Game developers

I have started a trial on the site to give advertising for developers to help promote their games. A rotated banner of up to four or five games will be shown on the left column about halfway down the page and when clicked can be taken to the game homepage or the Marketplace. I am providing the advertising for basically free of charge, although in return I would like to ask a donation of a game token or two which will either be used for a review or given away to our visitors in a competition which would also help…

Trials HD out now

The penultimate game in the Summer of Arcade 2009 promotion on XBLA is released today. Trials HD is a physics-based motorcycle game and comes with over 50 levels to compete in, fifteen skill based mini games and a level editor to create and share your levels with friends. I purchased Trials HD after all of five minutes of playing the demo, it is a really fun game and has just the right balance to make you want to win that Gold medal before playing the next level. I will be writing a review of the game sometime soon, no exact…

Xbox Live Update (Preview) has smaller game install sizes

One of the features not listed in the changes for the next 360 dashboard update is that games have smaller hard drive install sizes than the current dashboard. Many users are reporting games such as Left 4 Dead saw a reduction from 4GB to and Forza 2 from to I tried this myself with COD:WaW and saw a reduction from to , it is not a massive saving in my case but some games have better results than others. There is an ongoing list at Cheap Ass Gamer here.
